lyrics

Saturday.
The streets were wet with rain.
No one came.
And I sat there on the wall again
while the light stretched out across the sky.
I wrote my questions on a piece of paper
and I let them fly,
let them fall into the grey-blue water
where the light was shining

And when I got home, I saw you running
naked through the wet grass.
A blur of white, so bright and beautiful.

Sometimes I go out
wandering aimlessly
and it’s okay to not have anything
to show for time
other than to say you watched the clouds roll by.
A kind old man tried to convert me.
I guess he didn’t know
that I’d already been born again
by the light of your eyes and the sun on my skin.

And when I got home, I saw you running
naked through the wet grass.
A blur of white, so bright and beautiful.
